Over two sessions, students will explore the movement of resin, master color dispersion, and learn professional techniques to create luminous, glass-like artworks. You’ll move beyond basic pours—developing control, composition, and confidence while creating one or two gallery-quality resin pieces. Day 1: Foundations of Resin & Fluid Movement Introduction to Resin: Understanding epoxy resin, safety, mixing ratios, and working time. Color Theory in Resin: Working with pigments, alcohol inks, and dyes for depth and vibrancy. Pouring Techniques: Dirty pours, clean pours, and controlled flow methods. Surface Preparation: Properly preparing wood panels or canvases for optimal adhesion. Day 2: Depth, Design & Professional Finishing Layering & Dimension: Building depth through multiple pours and transparent layers. Manipulating Movement: Using heat guns and torches to create cells and organic textures. Edge Work & Refinement: Clean edges, correcting imperfections, and achieving a flawless finish. Final Coating: Creating a smooth, high-gloss, glass-like surface. Group Reflection: A supportive showcase and discussion of final pieces.
